Lena Cohen focuses on expanding UNH’s capacity to engage New Yorkers in the political process by mobilizing voters through registration drives, conducting civic education sessions, and leading non-partisan voter mobilization trainings. She supports the Policy and Advocacy department with campaign work ranging from advocacy surrounding the local, state, and federal budget to running social media and websites for coalition-based campaigns.
Prior to UNH, she was a canvasser for the Vermont Public Interest Group, Vermont’s grassroots advocacy group that promotes environmental and social protections across the state. She joined the non-profit sphere in New York City as the Community Engagement Intern with Riders alliance, where she supported senior staff in their campaigns to improve access to public transportation across New York City’s low-income communities. Lena graduated from American University with a BA in Political Science and Public Policy.
