Katie Cardwell is a community organizer and trainer working at UNH on maintaining and developing the programs and projects of the Institute for Empowered Aging. She fell in love with Settlement Houses after completing her second year social work internship at Queens Community House’s Pomonok Center where she worked to help develop programming and increase community engagement.
Katie is originally from Oregon and attended undergrad in Southern California, graduating in 2013 with a BA in Psychology from Hope International University. Moving back to Oregon after college she worked as a crisis intervention worker and behavior specialist before starting graduate school. She graduated from Fordham University May 2018 with her Master of Social Work. In her spare time she enjoys writing for a small popular culture blog (Nerdophiles.com) and is a huge fan of analyzing comics, television, and film through a social work lens. She is also an avid player of Dungeons & Dragons and enjoy teaching her colleagues how to play.
