United Neighborhood Houses Statement in Response to Head Start Office Closure
NEW YORK – April 2, 2025 - In response to the Trump Administration’s closure of the regional Head Start office in New York on April 1, alongside four other regional Head Start offices, United Neighborhood Houses Executive Director, Susan Stamler, commented:
“This decision by the Trump administration is irresponsible and destructive. Our settlement house members rely on Head Start funding to operate essential early childhood programs. This move threatens access to child care and undermines programs essential to young children’s development. The President and his appointees are deliberately harming our country’s children and families. The Trump Administration must immediately reverse this decision.”
