Lena Cohen's work focuses on the intersection of settlement houses, civic engagement, and relational organizing to drive outcomes-based solutions. As Senior Manager of Civic Engagement, Lena develops and executes civic engagement initiatives that inspire and deepen democracy participation across UNH member settlement houses and the communities they serve.

Lena has launched UNH’s nonpartisan Get Out the Vote (GOTV) program and scaled up UNH’s civic engagement work each year to reach more settlement house staff. She cultivates productive relationships and communication with a wide range of constituencies interested in voting rights and democracy policy, including policymakers, government officials, researchers, and advocates.

Lena lives in Brooklyn, NY and prior to joining UNH in 2017, was a community organizing intern at Riders Alliance, Advocacy Fellow at Environment America, and Canvasser for Vermont Public Interest Research Group. Lena holds a BA in Political Science and Public Policy from American University.
