Position:  Program Aide

Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation has an opening for one (1) part-time Program Aide in the Career and Education Programs Division.

Principal Duties:

  • Conduct outreach and recruitment both in person and using Social Media.
  • Conduct follow up phone calls and other duties to related to program operations and case management.
  • Constantly coordinate all outreach activities with others in the division and agency.
  • Conduct reception and other office duties as needed.
  • Participate in pre-program training, and ongoing professional development
  • and coaching as requested.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment,
  • prioritizing the safety of staff and participants while working physically on site and in the community.
  • Demonstrates commitment to leadership development, community building, and community organizing as strategies for social change.
  • Ensure participant compliance to program rules and regulations.
  • Represent the agency professionally to all stakeholders.
  • Build a collaborative relationship with participants and provide an example as a positive role model.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma and some college preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and office procedures
  • Bilingual/Spanish fluency preferred
  • Experience in youth programs

Work Environment  This position works in an office setting a majority of the time with an expectation that community outreach will also be conducted outside and some remote hours may be permitted if outcomes are being met. This role routinely uses standard equipment such as computers, walkie-talkies, cellphones, photocopiers, and standard equipment such as safety scissors and tape dispensers.

Physical Demands:   The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Travel:   Position will be based at 2930 Fulton St. 2nd Floor in person. 40% of the time will be spent traveling to multiple worksites across Brooklyn and Queens. Some remote hours may be permitted.

Supervision:   Building ENY Coordinator

Compensation:

  • $17.00 per hour, not to exceed 29 hours in any week, Monday - Friday between the hours of 10:00am and 6:00 pm.
  • All part-time employees are eligible to participate in the agency’s 403b Tax Deferred Retirement Investment Plan.
  • In addition, all part-time employees are eligible to participate in the agency’s Commuter Flexible Spending Plan.
  • CHLDC also follows the New York City Earned Sick Time Act.
