Classification: Non- Exempt/ Overtime Eligible

POSITION SUMMARY: The Sunnyside Home Care Program assists individuals with physical or other types of cognitive impairments to continue living safely in the community. The Home Care Clerk is responsible for helping to fulfill that objective by 1) consistently executing the duties and responsibilities of the role with efficiency. 2) providing effective organization skills for handling multiple tasks. 3) ensuring accuracy and proficiency with various office functions. 4) providing an exceptional customer experience for all the customers/clients they serve.


The Home Care Clerk may also perform other duties, as assigned.

Clerical Support:

  • Answers and directs incoming phone calls for the home care department.
  • Conducts telephonic attendance verification calls, as needed.
  • Responds to callers needs professionally and appropriately.
  • Maintains accurate documentation.
  • Maintains accurate filing systems for the service delivery and verification teams.
  • Retrieves files and other documents when needed.
  • Prints and distributes various reports to team members.
  • Completes copying, scanning, and faxing as needed.
  • Sorts and distributes mail.
  • Completes data entry accurately and timely.
  • Ensures logs are updated and documents are stored in a secure manner for easy retrieval.
  • Greets and assists visitors in a professional manner.
  • Maintains data bases such as mailing lists, contact lists, spreadsheets, and other information to support the smooth operation of the department.
  • Assists in tracking home care worker availability and utilization.
  • Assists with time sheet research and filing.
  • Completes field visits, as needed.
  • Participates in various quality assurance activities.


  • This role will require bending, sitting, stooping, and standing.


  • The work of this role will take place in an office setting, evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required as needed.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • AA Degree (Preferred)
  • Experience in home care or human services (Preferred)
  • Excellent word processing and computer.
  • Working knowledge for using spreadsheets.

Salary: $31,000 to $33,000

When applicable for the job, “SCS currently has a hybrid work model with three days in office and two days remote.”
