Riverdale Neighborhood House, Inc. (RNH) and its subsidiary Riverdale Community Center (RCC) are historic organizations serving the vibrant, diverse community of Riverdale. From our Early Childhood Center to our after-school programs offering college prep and employment for youth, to our Telephone Reassurance Program for seniors to our Community Pool, RNH/RCC offer programs and human services for families and individuals in the greater Bronx. RNH/RCC is looking for a dynamic individual for the newly created position of Director of Community Engagement.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Program Aide is a key member of our team and is responsible for supporting and assisting the day-to-day operations of the program including but not limited to daily record keeping and entry, responding to participant/parent inquiries and supporting program staff where necessary. The Program Aide serves as a positive and engaging role model for participants and strives towards making a positive impact on the lives of our community.

MAJOR/MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains program attendance, documentation, incident/accident reports, and meal sign-in/out sheets.
  • Supports promotion of programs including periodic outreach and recruitment.
  • Works with staff to engage, retain and youth
  • Assists program director and/or program assistant as needed.
  • Provides a safe and stimulating environment for participants in the After-School program
  • Always maintains a high level of flexibility and professionalism
  • Supports staff with always ensuring the safety & supervision of program participants
  • Knows and supports ALL emergency procedures and follows all safety guidelines. Including adhering to all COVID-19 policies & procedures
  • Ability to work remotely as well as in person

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful Background check and State Central Registry clearances required
  • High School graduate and/or current college student
  • 0-3 Years of experience working with community youth
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
  • Able to navigate digital system to participate in program remotely
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Physical abilities can include standing, lifting, bending, climbing, walking

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 2:00 pm (may vary - subject to school hours) – 6:30pm
