Title: Grants Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Developing and maintaining a contracts management schedule which includes critical dates for contract renewals and program and/or budget modifications.
- Breaking down contract performance information for and building the knowledge of managers without financial backgrounds
- Preparing and submitting vouchers and invoices in a timely manner.
- Preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports required by governmental agencies.
- Providing detailed reporting of outstanding government contract receivables
- Assisting in the evaluation of agency compliance with contract and funder requirements and agency policies and procedures related to program compliance.
- Developing contract variance reports on a monthly basis.
- Supporting the preparation of budget information and budget modification process
- Providing audit support including preparation of schedules, analyses and documents for timely completion of funder audits, and ensuring timely preparation for the audit
- Preparing account analyses and contract renewals
- Assigning programmatic and funding allocations to all expenditures
- Periodically conducting internal audits of client files and fiscal documentation
- Acting as an additional liaison between the agency and grantors
- Participating in monthly meetings with Program to review receivables and expenditures related to contracts/grants.
- Prepare journal entries and provide support for making adjustments in our Ledger.
- Maintain an accurate cost allocation table of expenditures.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Interpersonal skills to deal with program managers, auditors, and others as required.
• Computer skills in Excel and Word, and willingness to learn other programs as needed.
• Analytic skills and communication skills to evaluate budgets and communicate problems and solutions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
Previous experience working with budgets and other items listed above.
