How to use this guide

A key component of UNH’s work is supporting settlement house staff by creating and customizing professional development and training to enhance their skills, knowledge, and expertise. UNH’s professional development offerings also aim to build a strong network of settlement house workers.

This course guide is designed to provide UNH members up-to-date information on all of our professional development opportunities throughout the year. We hope you will also use it to plan for participation in upcoming professional development opportunities including leadership development cohorts. We know staff across all settlement houses actively participate in these programs and we welcome suggestions for future professional development. Your feedback makes our programs stronger. The offerings in this guide are organized into five categories:

  • Leadership Development
  • Community Safety
  • Community Power + Engagement (COMING SOON)
  • Organizational Skill Building
  • Conferences

You can click the + next to each header to read more about what each of these categories covers, and find a link to our current offerings for that block. If you have any access issues please email Katie Cardwell ([email protected]). If you want more information about any offering, please contact Angela Perry-Carroll ([email protected]). All offerings in this guide are free and only open to UNH member settlement house staff and interns. Sessions are provided remotely unless otherwise noted.
