University Settlement Society
Manhattan
Founded in 1886, University Settlement Society is one of New York's most dynamic social service institutions with deep roots on the Lower East Side. Each year University Settlement's diverse programs help over 25,000 low-income and at-risk people build better lives for themselves and their families.
Harbor Camp
UNH has been partnering with the Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance (MWA) for Harbor Camp since 2008. Harbor Camp provides a meaningful water-based summer camp experience to hundreds of children in the New York – New Jersey metropolitan area. Currently, six UNH members participate including: CAMBA, Chinese-American Planning Council, Goddard Riverside Community Center, Hudson Guild, Union Settlement Association, and University Settlement Society.
Harbor Camp’s goal is to provide ecological, environmental, maritime, and/or historical education alongside fun and entertainment, and to cultivate stewardship in its participants. It encourages interest in protecting and preserving natural resources and instills a sense of the history of the New York region.
For more information about Harbor Camp, contact Snehal Majithia.
