Founded in 1975, St. Nicks Alliance (formerly St. Nicholas Neighborhood Preservation Corporation) was born with the long-range goal of revitalizing its multi-ethnic, multi-racial Williamsburg/Greenpoint community to the benefit of low- and moderate-income residents. Today, St. Nicks remains a community-led institution operating in five strategically focused programs. Areas: 1) housing preservation and development; 2) economic development; 3) workforce development; 4) health care; and 5) youth family services.
In pursuit of our revitalization goals, we follow five operating principles:
- Achieve tangible results;
- Leverage capital and human investment;
- Employ residents and encourage self-help;
- Foster grassroots decision-making through partnerships and collaboration; and
- Rebuild the social fabric of our community.
