Established in 1891 on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, East Side House Settlement has served residents of the South Bronx since 1963.
Operating from 17 locations, East Side House helps 8,000 individuals improve their lives each year by providing access to quality education and technology training as gateways out of poverty. The continuum of high-performing programs includes early childhood and after-school programs, adult education, computer technology programs, family services, and senior services.
In addition, East Side House has six programs that focus on high school graduation and college preparation: Youth and Adult Education Services for students earning their GED, and five high school programs in partnership with the New York City Department of Education: Mott Haven Village Preparatory High School, Bronx Haven High School, the Smith Campus Young Adult Borough Center, the High School for Excellence and Innovation, and New Explorers High School.
East Side House believes that education enables all of us to create economic and civic opportunities for ourselves, our family, and our community.
