  • Teach five classes a day
  • Be an active participant in school-wide restorative practices
  • Serve as a CHAMPION to students
  • Develop differentiated lesson plans that ensure the mastery of state learning standards
  • Refine teaching methodologies to meet the needs of all students
  • Ensure students attain the achievement goals of the Academy’s accountability plan
  • Support school-wide initiatives and maintain a positive solutions-oriented attitude
  • Be supported through teacher coaching
  • Work in SoHo within The Door

Special Education – Certified in Secondary, Multi-Subject (6-12), English, Math, Science, History teachers

  • Earth Science teacher
  • Living Environment teacher
  • Chemistry teacher
  • Physics teacher
  • Social Studies teacher
  • English teacher
  • Math teacher
  • French teacher
  • Spanish teacher
  • Academic Intervention Supervisor


  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in subject area to be taught – Master’s Degree preferred
  • Experience in an urban public high school or charter school setting
  • Proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom and evidence-based practice
  • Belief in and alignment with BSA’s CHAMPION Model and growth mindset
  • Valid New York State Certification
