SCHOOL-BASED FEE FOR SERVICE SOCIAL WORKER

Job Description

OVERVIEW: University Settlement provides a comprehensive network of services to over 20,000 people of all ages living in the Lower East Side. Its broad network of activities includes adult literacy classes, mental health counseling and intensive case management; group and family day care; support services to the formerly homeless; after-school and summer camp for children and teens; a senior center.  The Door’s mission is to empower young people ages 12-21 to reach their potential by providing accessible, comprehensive youth development services – health care, counseling, education, legal services, the arts and recreation – in a diverse and supportive environment.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  •  Provide 30 reimbursable sessions per week at public elementary middle or high school
  •  Provide short- and long-term psychotherapy services to an ethnically and culturally diverse population, ranging from grades K through 12 within the modalities of individual, group, and family therapy including behavior modification, cognitive behavioral, insight oriented, and supportive therapy.
  •  Provide diagnostic evaluations and assessments appropriate for the discipline and in accordance with OMH regulations, University Settlement Clinic Policies, and professional standards.
  • Maintain clinical records in accordance with OMH standards, complete all necessary documentation required by OMH and University Settlement Clinic Policies.
  • Obtain and monitor managed care authorization
  • Engage in staff meetings, case conferences, training seminars and individual supervisory meetings
  • Complete other duties deemed necessary by the Clinical Director pertaining to provision of effective services to the school.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • LMSW, LMHC, or LCSW
  • Demonstrated expertise in outpatient psychotherapy
  •  Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and engage with a clinical team

Salary Information

Hours: School calendar, 30 billable sessions per week, prorated when school is not in session
Salary: Fee paid per kept client, commensurate with clinical experience
