Since 1893, Henry Street has delivered the most effective, compassionate and comprehensive services possible to residents of the Lower East Side.  As a multifaceted not-for-profit, Henry Street provides innovative social services, arts programs and healthcare services from 17 locations throughout the Lower East Side.  Building upon its legacy for innovation and effective programming, Henry Street has grown to offer more than 50 different programs, currently making it one of the most comprehensive settlement house in New York City, as well as one of the City’s largest social service agencies.  Henry Street is governed by a 45-member Board of Directors and is supported by government grants and contracts, as well as foundation, corporate and individual support.


The Health and Wellness Cluster is a $10M division which provides a wide array of personalized behavioral health services to individuals coping with the challenges brought on by emotional problems and mental illness. A New Youth State certified Article 31 mental health facility and approved Article 28 primary health care facility, this division delivers outpatient mental health services,  PROS, crisis services, HIV family mental health services, vocational rehabilitation, parent education, supportive employment, case management, screenings for entitlement benefits, health care navigator program and Senior Services.  Services are provided by culturally competent staff who can communicate to our clients who need to communicate in Chinese and Spanish as well as English. These programs are designed to help individuals attain their fullest potential in an environment that values respect, dignity, caring and integrity.



                 Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) required

                 New York State NP License with specialty in Psychiatry

                 Excellent knowledge of psychotropic medications

                 Excellent clinical knowledge

                 Excellent organizational and verbal and written communication skills

                 Bilingual required - Chinese (Mandarin) or Spanish/English

                 Computer knowledge and efficiency essential, willing to use EHRs

                 Must be interested in Community Mental Health



                 Perform Psychiatric Assessments for  new patients

                 Oversight of assigned clinic patients

                 Attend intake review meetings, incident review meetings and Quality Assurance (QA) meetings

                 Evaluate all referred patients for psychotropic medication on monthly basis

                 Evaluate crises for hospitalization

                 Prepare referral letter to designated hospital if hospitalization is required

                 Meet with Director and co-director around treatment issues and treatment protocols

                 Other related duties as assigned

Salary Information

Commensurate with experience
Part time with potential to become fulltime
