The Department of Workforce Development seeks a Program Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Bronxchester Community Services Program.


The candidate will supervise two staff members to engage residents of Bronxchester Houses and the surrounding community to create connections and coordinate quality level engagement activities and strategies. The Program Coordinator will maintain a consistent focus on ensuring the program interviews and engages new enrollment of community members into the program for Workforce Development, Financial Counseling and Senior Services.  He/She will be responsible for monitoring and reporting program performance and progress toward weekly, monthly and annual targets. In addition, he/she will be performing quality assurance tasks associated with case management, job development, and data management. The Program Coordinator will manage outreach activities, workshops and case management services.


  • Provide leadership and direction to program staff and works cooperatively with Bronxchester residents, as well as develop relationships with community partners.
  • Attend community meetings on behalf of BronxChester Community Services program to hear community concerns, provide information & outreach to community residents while advocating for participation in the program.
  • Maintain a database, track hours, accomplishments and support provided to the program to develop statistical data for promotional and management purposes.
  • Prepare reports for director as needed.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study is preferred. Associates Degree with more than five years of experience will be considered.
  • Prior experience working with a workforce program is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ relevant experience is required.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours, which include weekends and some evenings when applicable.
  • Engaging personality and detailed orientated skills are essential.
  • Strong oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology is required.

Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language is required. Authorization to work in the United States for any employer is mandatory.
