The Webster Campus Community School seeks an Part-Time Program Coordinator to oversee with the Adult Literacy Program.  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.


  • Provide direct services to clients, including intake, engagement, assessment, referral, service plan development, advocacy, counseling, exit summaries and follow-up.
  • Document all interactions with, or on behalf of, clients.
  • Provide general clerical support, including filing, faxing, word processing, and typing, photocopying and sorting mail.
  • Report to, and meet with, supervisor on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with special projects and perform additional duties as assigned

Program Specific Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary member of the Adult Literacy Program team
  • Assist Program Director with the development of program goals and activities for adult learners
  • With the Program Director, reviews program components, obtaining feedback as appropriate
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment events to promote and recruit students for Adult Literacy classes
  • Follow up with Teacher on a daily basis for attendance roster and follow up with individuals who are not in class to explore barriers that lead to absences
  • Create a nurturing and supportive environment for the Adult Learners
  • Act as a liaison with adult learning, BronxWorks Staff and school staff
  • Attend DOE and agency trainings as required
  • Meet monthly with program coordinator and/or program director for supervision
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


  • Two years related experience working in a school setting
  • Experience in a supervisory/management position
  • Experience with and knowledge of best practices in youth development preferred
  • Ability to work well with young people, school administrators, community partners and families
  • Program design, curriculum management and implementation experience
  • Excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in modern business communications including personal computers, electronic mail, voicemail, facsimile and copier equipment


  • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork
  • Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents
  • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation
  • Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work

Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language is required. Authorization to work in the United States for any employer is mandatory.
