The Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation (CHLDC) a multifaceted, nonprofit community development organization, serving 8,000 residents annually.  The agency sponsors housing and community facilities development, community organizing and youth and family services programs.  CHLDC seeks an experienced workforce development professional to support the CHAMPION Network, a sectoral employment program at Cypress Hills Employment Solutions. Cypress Hills Employment Solutions seeks to meet the workforce needs of local and city-wide businesses by connecting them with qualified Cypress Hills residents that are expertly matched with the needs of the businesses. 

Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation has an opening for one (1) Program Coordinator.  This is a full time, five (5) day per week position.


                 Engage employers in a variety of sectors for the purpose of creating job opportunities and internship sites for members of the CHAMPION Network.

                 Maintain relationships with employers through regular feedback and training.

                 Determine appropriate match for participants with employers.

                 Oversee the internship component of the Out of School Youth (OSY) funded program.

                 Build and support effective relationships with all CHLDC Divisions for the purpose of leveraging the strengths of youth to make a positive impact in our community and to ensure that they take advantage of CHLDC’s many career development opportunities.

                 Ensure compliance with funder’s expectations.

                 Ensure that all operations of the CHAMPION Network Internship component are consistent with the highest standards of youth development and workforce development.

                 Provide crisis intervention as needed.

                 Perform statistical, narrative and record keeping duties as required

                 Represent the program in the community with professional dress and conduct at all times.

                 Demonstrates commitment to leadership development, community building, and community organizing as strategies for social change.

                 Other duties as assigned.



                 Bachelor’s degree required.

                 Two (2) years management experience in an employment and/or youth services field. 

                 Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. 

                 Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.


Salary Information

$20/hr., part-time
