COMMUNITY SCHOOL DIRECTOR – Webster Campus Community School

Job Description

BronxWorks is hiring a Community School Director in the Children & Youth department for its Webster Campus Community School Programs.



  • Oversee day to day operations of Community School and Mental Health Initiative.
  • Serve as CBO liaison on the school administrative boards such as School Leadership Team (SLT) and Community School Team (CST).
  • Serve as a liaison for community partnership and help to broker new partnerships that identify relevant service enhancements and expanded learning and enrichment opportunities that aligns with community school goals and needs.
  • Work with principal and members of attendance committee to address attendance needs of the school.
  • Oversee school’s performance management efforts (developing and analyzing tracking systems, create and review workplan on a quarterly basis to inform programmatic decisions and outcomes).
  • Ensure that programs meet all compliance and safety requirements set forth by the organization, Department of Education (DOE), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) and Funders.
  • Ensure that new hires have taken required steps prior to beginning work assignments (i.e., DOE background clearance, fingerprinting, attended and completed required trainings, and all required HR paperwork is completed).
  • Build relationships with all stakeholders, including school leadership, parents, students, staff, faculty, the community, and the co-located programs in the facility.
  • Promote a culture of continuously improving  youth development principles and practice through professional development, collaboration, modeling, and collaborative planning amongst the school faculty and CBO staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.



  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Public Administration/Health or other related field of study.
  • MSW degree holders must have a LMSW or LCSW certification.
  •  A minimum of two-years program and supervisory experience.
  • Two years related experience working in a school setting.
  • Experience in a supervisory/management position.
  • Experience with and knowledge of best practices in youth development preferred
  • Ability to work well with young people, school administrators, community partners and families
  • Program design, curriculum management and implementation experience
  • Engaging personality and detailed orientated skills are essential.
  • Strong oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology is required.
