CASE MANAGER, Learn to Work

Job Description

Bronxworks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social well-being. From toddlers to seniors, we feed, shelter, teach, and support our neighbors to build a stronger community. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop strong relationships with students, parents and school administration to improve program cohesion and overall success. 
  • Provide direct services to students, including assisting with intake processes, engagement and academic counseling.
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for a diverse student population.
  • Perform attendance outreach, advocacy, and follow-up for a caseload of students. 


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or other related fields is required.
  • Minimum of 2-years of experience working with adolescents individually and in group settings is essential.
  • Ability to work effectively with high school aged youth, educators, and families in a school setting is necessary.
  • Knowledge of youth development principles is required. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English language fluency is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other standard business applications.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork.
  • Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
  • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
  • Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
