BronxWorks is hiring a Case Manager in the Children & Youth Department for its High School Equivalency Program.

 

The Case Manager will play an active role in supporting the Youth Education and Workforce Portfolio.  He or she will serve as a valuable part of our social support team and must be engaging, detailed oriented, flexible, and comfortable working independently and in a team setting.  This person must be able to work with individuals from different backgrounds and comfortable exploring and developing community partnerships.

 

The work schedule will be Monday-Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm and some weekend and/or late nights maybe required. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage an active case load of twenty to twenty-five participants.
  • Develop and update service plans.
  • Facilitate personal and professional development workshops.
  • Provide retention services to employed participants.
  • Write case notes weekly to document all encounters.
  • Supporting all program activities such as student intakes, orientation, field trips, and onsite events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by manager.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or another related field of study.
  • A minimum of one-year of experience in case management, advising or working with youth.
  • Prior experience working with young adults in an educational, case management or social service setting.
  • Knowledge of youth development principles and work through a strength based lens. 
  • Ability to work with individuals from different backgrounds and comfortable exploring and developing community partnerships.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish language proficiency preferred, but not required.
  • Strong oral and written communication, time management and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology is required.
