Teens for Neghborhood Trees

Teens for Neighborhood Trees (TNT) engages settlement house youth in planting trees and learning about the urban environment in their neighborhoods. Funded by the Levitt Foundation, TNT is a joint venture of UNH, the New York Tree Trust, and Trees New York.

The program includes a training component in which students learn the important role trees play in the life of the city, how to identify potential tree sites, and how to plant and maintain a new tree.

With assistance from The New York City Parks Department, TNT participants have planted over 200 trees throughout New York City.
