Don't Cut the Core

Facing State and City budget cuts over many years that have reduced important government funding, UNH’s 37 member agencies have been put in a position of doing less with less.

Fewer services are available to community residents, program quality has been stretched, program hours have been reduced and staff have been laid off.

Don't Cut the Core“Don’t Cut the Core” elevates UNH’s advocacy work in response to these budget cuts.

The “Don’t Cut the Core” rallying cry promotes a discussion on government budget priorities, while recognizing that New York City and State have budget deficits that must be addressed.

UNH coordinated monthly “Don’t Cut the Core” advocacy activities (e.g. joint testimony at City Council hearings, State and City lobby days) involving its members, leading up to the adoption of the New York State and New York City budgets this year.
